Apprenticeships in Children's Care, Learning and Development
The Children’s Care, Learning and Development Apprenticeship is ideal for anyone undertaking work in a registered setting, whose primary role is the care, learning and development of children and young people under the age of 16 years.
There are two levels to this qualification:
The Intermediate Apprenticeship at level 2 and the Advanced Apprenticeship at level 3. We typically recommend that people becoming apprentices start at level 2 and then progress to level 3.
Intermediate Apprenticeship
To complete the framework, the apprentice will achieve the following qualifications:
Level 2 Certificate for the Children & Young People’s Workforce
12 hour Paediatric/Childcare First Aid Qualification
Key skill/Functional skill qualifications in Communication/English and Application of Number/Maths
Typically this qualification should be completed in 9-12 months.
Advanced Apprenticeship
To complete the framework, the advanced apprentice will achieve the following qualifications:
Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce
12 hour Paediatric/Childcare First Aid Qualification
Key skill/Functional skill qualifications in Communication/English and Application of Number/Maths
Typically this qualification should be completed in 15-18 months.
